MADISON, Wis. — A fireplace that begun in the engine of an idling van Thursday afternoon still left two motor vehicles totaled and another one particular ruined.
Madison fire officials reported the fire broke out soon ahead of 2:30 p.m. A witness in the space described observing white smoke coming from the hood of a GMC Explorer that was parked bumper-to-bumper from a Ford F-150 in entrance of two automobile shops on Stewart Avenue.
The witness stated the smoke from the GMC turned black as flames commenced to build from the engine compartment.
Fire officers mentioned personnel from the automobile store tried to set the flames out, but they were being unsuccessful. The employees used four fireplace extinguishers, in accordance to a news launch.
